Harper's Magazine is an excellent publication. They often offer to send you a free issue to check and see if the magazine is for you. If you do like it, the subscription price is about 16 dollars for one year or about 18 dollars for one and a half years--if they still make the same offer.

Harper's is completely different from Time, The New Yorker, Newsweek, US News and World Report, Foreign Affairs, The Weekly Standard, The Atlantic Monthly, or various other respected magazines. The analysis of the articles is deep, and one may need a dictionary close by to look up a few words in each issue.

Harper's offers a free weekly newsletter available by email (this replaces Harper's Weekly). If you receive an offer for a trial issue of Harper's, rest assured a reply is well worth your time. A link to sign up for the free Harper's Weekly is included in the Miscellany.
